Qatar Airways talks to Boeing after more Airbus A320 problems
Qatar Airways has, in the past, publicly criticised the reliability of the 787, but last November Al Baker said that aircraft was now performing well.

The airlines head Akbar al-Baker told reporters Monday that Qatar is in talks with Boeing, Reuters reported. The Dubai Premium Lounge is a symbol of our commitment to continuously evolve our customers’ experience by taking everything a step above expectations.
Until now, publicity surrounding A320neo deliveries has focussed on problems with engines made by Pratt & Whitney.
“It will definitely not be four and five because we never bought four and five”, he said.
Set to officially open on April 28, the Qatar Airways Dubai Premium Lounge is located in Dubai International Airport, on Concourse D. Available to Qatar Airways First and Business Class passengers and Privilege Club Platinum, Gold and Silver members, the Dubai Premium Lounge is a modern and sophisticated space where travellers can relax and rejuvenate before their journey.
Qatar Airways Ltd. lifted its stake in British Airways owner IAG SA close to 12 percent, strengthening ties built around the access BA provides to North America via London and the Gulf carrier’s network of Asian routes.
“Talks have not started but on the high level there is an agreement”, he said.
Asked if Qatar Airways could order 80 737s instead, he said “potentially, yes”. Qatar Airways would take a 49% stake in the carrier and will decide by June whether to proceed with the transaction. European Union rules cap airline investments by companies from beyond the bloc at 49 percent.
Qatar Airways also is eager to expand to the large Indian market.
“I’m a businessman and I will even do business with the devil as long as it’s win-win for both”, Al Baker said.

He also mentioned that the airline’s first financial results will be announced in the next two months. The carrier’s critics have attacked it for a lack of transparency, as rival Emirates Airline reports its financial statements.
