Manchester City 0-0 Real Madrid: Five Talking Points
Real Madrid manager Zinedine Zidane spoke to the media following his team’s 0-0 draw away from home against Manchester City in the first leg of the UEFA Champions League semifinals.

Manchester City skipper Vincent Kompany is convinced his side will realise the true value of Tuesday’s goalless draw against Real Madrid when their Champions League semi-final tie is determined next week.
“This season we have played very well away”.
They have the advantage of playing away first – they tried to manage the pace of the game – but we play the same way away as at home and we came away from Sevilla and PSG with good results.
Real are yet to concede a goal at home in the Champions League this season. “We are all united together, work as a team and just get on with it”.
“We have set it up for a good, old-fashioned rumble at the Bernabeu”, Hart said. “But we’re happy with the performance and we’ll look forward to the second leg at the Bernabeu”. We had the ball more in the second half and we had more chances after the break.
Both sides will play for a spot in the final, when they face at the Bernabeu next week Wednesday. “We tried to change our game and it was impossible, so we need to play on Sunday”. In the return leg, I don’t think that they’ll suffer from his absence’.
Real Madrid were without three-time Ballon D’Or victor Cristiano Ronaldo while striker Karim Benzema lasted only 45 minutes after missing the game at the weekend with Rayo Vallecano.
While Real Madrid are favourites to go through, City can give themselves a great chance of going through if they maintain defensive discipline at the same time as scoring a goal of their own.
Ronaldo, who is likely to be sidelined for Saturday’s trip to Real Sociedad, underwent further medical tests after returning from Manchester but his club are yet to release a statement on his fitness.
“Obviously we’d loved to have scored a goal, but it is not a bad result”.
“We hope that they can both be in the second leg”, Zidane said. “But we were not very creative, we couldn’t create clear chances to score”.

While they did threaten the City goal on numerous occasions, David Silva and Sergio Aguero were also a handful at the other end of the park.
