Five-year deal agreed, Fabregas’ swipe, £40m swoop for La Liga star

As Sabatini said, Nainggolan is a universal midfielder, one who, at 28-years-old, is at his absolute peak, and as we’ve seen over the past several months, Nainggolan, as an offensive outlet and midfielder eraser, is absolutely essential.

The player has reportedly agreed to a five-year deal.

Now, the Daily Mirror is reporting that Chelsea have agreed a deal to sign the player from Roma as the west London club look to move quickly to begin their rebuilding process this summer.

Nainggolan’s signing would also be a significant statement from the club, as it would be the fifth most expensive signing in the club’s history, behind only Andriy Shevchenko, Eden Hazard, Diego Costa and Fernando Torres.

The Blues have seemingly changed their transfer tatics as they are looking to get their buisness done before the Euro 2016 tournament to avoid a price war.

It’s thought the Red Devils midfielder went for dinner with Nainggolan, Miralem Pjanic and Salih Ucan after the game, with the Lupi considering a €15m bid.

Fellaini is contracted to United until the summer of 2018, which could help them recoup some of the fee they paid Everton for the midfielder.

However Sabbatini insisted that the 26-year-old will be staying put simply saying that he “has Roma on his shoulders”.
