It will be interesting to see HTC coming back to take control of the production of the Google Nexus 2016 phones. For instance, the current-generation Nexus 5X and Nexus 6P’s codenames are “Bullhead” and “Angler”, respectively.
Evleaks dropped a big one a couple of minutes ago, and it involves the relationship between Google, HTC and Nexus. This newer one brings the Nexus 6P to early 2016 flagship standards, at least as far as processor and RAM goes. Google is supposedly referring to the devices internally as M1 and S1.
Google annually releases their new software and device offerings during its I/O Developers Conference, leading many followers to believe that next month would see the unveiling of Nexus 7 2016 according to Yibada.
In the early days of Android Google and HTC had a good relationship.
The Nexus 9 is a tablet that was introduced in 2014 and represents the first time in a long time that HTC has made a tablet. Well, the Nexus 9 was built and manufactured by HTC, someone who has been declining in profits tremendously and has overall sunken in past years.
But then, there is a possibility that HTC could be working on a smartphone and a tablet instead.
That’s about all we know about the Nexus 2016, but it’s a doozy.
Do you think scoring the Nexus contract could help HTC make a comeback in the smartphone world? However, we are expecting more reports to surface online as we are getting closer to the release date of the two handsets. The suggested codenames seemed to point towards a Nexus Android device because of the number “1”.
The Nexus 9 is gone.

Rumors have been doing rounds that HTC will probably work alongside last year’s manufacturer of the Nexus 6P – Huawei.
