People in Rameswaram in long queues on the sunny day paid their last respects to Dr Kalam at a ground near the bus terminus where his body has been taken now.

Abul kalam had defied the USA sanctions for atleast more than two decades for helping India become an independent country with regards to ballistic missile technology and defacto nuclear power. SK Sharma (Retd) said, “It was a memorable occasion to share moments with Dr Kalam”.
Kalam had collapsed during a lecture at the IIM, Shillong and died of cardiac arrest on July 27.
People also recalled his efforts in bringing broad gauge train services upto Rameswaram, his work for afforestation and for providing solar power to remote areas.

At around 9 pm, the Presidential Boeing took off with Kalam and his entourage of 22.

Asked about her tweet, condoling the death of Kalam and calling him an “inspirational leader”, Juhi said: “He loved kids”. However, after my wife, Tabassum; my mother, Ayesha Begum, and son Ghalib, told me how graciously you had received them I was really moved and it kindled a new hope that I may still get justice, ‘ Pancholi said. “I still can’t get over the fact that he has passed away”, she said.
