Britney Spears slept in a auto park during her 2007 meltdown

Almost a decade after Britney Spears‘ public meltdown, court documents state drugs were a factor in the singer’s troubled life circa 2007 and 2008.

The trigger for the new docs is an impending deposition in a case that squares Britney against her former friend and manager Sam Lutfi.

According to legal papers obtained by TMZ.com, the judges declared the singer’s life was in a mess when she met Lufti in 2007, explaining she was divorcing ex-husband Kevin Federline, fighting for custody of their kids, and “struggling with drug abuse”.

Is Britney Spears set to welcome her third child?

After losing her children and sleeping her troubles away in the parking lot, the documents say the once-troubled singer called Lutfi because “he was one the few people she trusted”.

She moved in with him until early 2008.

Britney Spears is already a mother to two fast-growing boys, Sean, 10, and Jayden, nine.

They added that Britney – who is now performing her Piece Of Me residency in Las Vegas – feels she has a lot of more love to offer and wants to open her home to another child.

Britney’s family claims Sam was actually the one who fueled her with drugs.

Sam insisted he only agreed to manage her if she stopped abusing drugs, but she continued to get high.

She said: ‘It is a factual question for the jury to determine whether an oral contract was formed between Sam and Britney, and if so, to interpret the material terms of that contract’.

Meanwhile, Ms Spears’ legal team has filed documents requesting Mr Lutfi himself be barred from the deposition.

But past year the California Court Of Appeals ruled that the decision to toss out his defamation lawsuit did not prevent him from seeking financial redress for money he claims he is still owed.
