Battle for Delaware’s delegates to contend with potential thunderstorms

On the Republican side of the presidential primary, billionaire developer Donald Trump has topped opinion polls heading into the election, followed by Texas Sen.

Polls are showing Democratic front-runner and former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton ahead of Vermont Sen.

Republican Laura Seyler, 63, a senior buyer for a direct marketer, called Donald Trump a bully.

“We really have to consider who we think has the best chance of beating Hillary Clinton”, Asher said, “and when we get to Cleveland, we need to put our prejudices aside”. Northeastern Pennsylvania is traditionally a Democratic stronghold, but supporter Len Luba, a retired Vietnam veteran, said he believes Trump’s appeal is “turning that around”.

“I believe Trump will take the bat and straighten things out”, she said.

Pollsters expect a record Republican voter turnout.

That’s rare, and election officials are bracing for above-normal turnout.

The turnout also far exceeds the 25 percent Republican turnout from August 2012 in the senatorial primary between Linda McMahon and former congressman Christopher Shays where McMahon cruised to victory.

The Pennsylvania GOP primary, on the other hand, is one of the strangest primary elections in the country. Unlike in previous years, the Pennsylvania primary carries unusual weight because neither party has a candidate that has obtained a majority of the necessary delegates.

“Normally no one really comes here”, Vella said, and it feels good to get some attention.

Polls opened at 6 a.m. and are scheduled to close at 8 p.m.

And then, you vote up to three more times in a down-ballot race for the directly-elected delegates who will actually cast the ballots at the Republican National Covention.

Voters in Pennsylvania are casting ballots on primary contests, including the state’s first competitive Republican presidential primary in decades. Sanders, he said, “gives a crap about what’s happening to our planet”. The 15 remaining delegates are distributed by congressional district, and in those five races, the biggest vote-getter in each district collects three delegates. Each congressional district gets 3 delegates, and republicans will vote for them directly at the polls on Tuesday.

That is a huge increase over the 2012 presidential primary, but that was expected since in 2012 President Barack Obama was running unopposed for the Democrats and Republican Mitt Romney had clinched the Republican nomination by the time CT held its primary. Top two applies to races for the Legislature, Congress, constitutional offices and the U.S. Senate. “It was.” State Democrats point out that they’re winning the battle to convert independents … and when those previous outsiders are counted, Republicans have added only about 30,000 more voters.

Both parties have primaries in the race to replace embattled Attorney General Kathleen Kane, who decided not to seek a second term.

In congressional races, U.S. Rep. Rep. Chaka Fattah of Philadelphia is running for a 12th term in a four-way primary as he faces trial on federal racketeering and bribery charges in May.
