So far, Nintendo has only announced one game for the NX which is The Legend of Zelda that will also launch in 2017. That much we already know. The urgency of the NX launch was demonstrated by the rest of the financial report, which saw Nintendo’s profits drop by over 60 percent over the a year ago, despite hits like Splatoon and Super Mario Maker.
But in the case of the Wii U, that depreciation factor just accelerated dramatically. Because of that, the game has been pushed to 2017.
“Fire Emblem” and “Animal Crossing” franchises are getting their own mobile games that are slated to be released this fall, according to Nintendo.
For those hoping to get a preview of the Nintendo NX during this June’s Electronic Entertainment Expo, there’s some bad news via Ars Technica: Nintendo CEO Tatsumi Kimishima said in the company’s earnings call that the next generation system will not be appearing at this year’s E3.
The speculation comes shortly after the technology giant confirmed its new NX console will be released in March 2017. Although we don’t know what that “new concept” will be, Nintendo has patented a couple of different controllers, the most recent of which was granted yesterday.
