Which, if you are a massive fan of what Marvel has accomplished over more than a dozen movies in the MCU, will make you feel relieved beyond comprehension. So many superhero movies have come and gone since then that it’s easy to forget just how brilliant the first two entries are – the way they handle everything from story to characters is something that every superhero film could do with paying attention to.

In any case, so far, it seems Sony lending Spidey will remain a stand-alone case of studios working together, and the roles of Deadpool and Spider-Man could have been recast by the time it happens, if it does at all.
