QB Goff goes to Los Angeles Rams with No. 1 pick

Commissioner Roger Goodell, who was loudly jeered by the crowd in Chicago, rejected the team’s appeal of the penalties. The Rams will be playing their first season in Los Angeles since the team moved to St. Louis in 1995.

“Absolutely, yeah, there’s going to be pressures” Goff said.

Goff is expected to be pitched into the fray immediately for the Rams, who open their 2016 season against the quarterback’s boyhood team the San Francisco 49ers.

Cool under pressure, with a low-key personality, Goff is smart, accurate and tough.

“It was surreal, it went really quick”, Wentz said afterward.

“The speed is always that much faster (in the NFL),”Goff said”.

DePodesta, the Browns’ chief strategy officer, was part of the brain trust that traded down from No. 2 to No. 8 with the Eagles on April 20 and from No. 8 to No. 15 with Tennessee on April 28. “Big shock, but I’m very excited to get out there”. That’s just one of several questions in the air for tonight’s draft. All of which aided his awesome ascension up draft boards.

“I know the fans are real passionate and they want to win”, said Wentz. That’s the kind of player I am too.

Granted, Wentz didn’t face the level of competition in the Missouri Valley Football Conference that Goff had in the Pacific 12 Conference.

“We were sitting right next to the Jared Goff table so we knew right away”. After signing Sam Bradford to a new contract and adding backup Chase Daniel, the Eagles could have focused their energy on building the best possible team around Bradford.

“The guy won Rookie of the Year last year, and he’s only going to get better from here”, Goff said of Gurley.

It marked the sixth time since 1969 that quarterbacks have gone 1-2 in the draft. The last time the Eagles had the second over-all pick in the draft was in 1999 when they selected Donovan McNabb.

The fashion statements were entertaining, with the likes of Ohio State running back Ezekiel Elliott cropping his buttoned-down shirt in half-it was concealed by his suit coat-because that was his uniform style on the football field.

Shortly before the draft began, a video was shared on Tunsil’s Twitter account which showed him smoking marijuana out of a bong/gas mask contraption.

But the damage was done. Tunsil said at the draft that the account was hacked. Maybe Laremy Tunsil, the Ole Miss offensive tackle who can pile-drive blockers into submission.

This year was arguably the prime example of the quarterback desperation sweeping the league as both the Rams and Eagles made mortgage-the-franchise trades in order to move up for Goff and Wentz, even though neither was considered a sure thing. Wentz joins McNair, Joe Flacco (Delaware, 2008, 18th overall), Phil Simms (Morehead State, 1979, seventh overall) and Doug Williams (Grambling, 1978, 17th overall) as the only FCS quarterbacks taken in the first round.
