They did live up to their expectations as officially Jared Goff and Carson Wentz are this year’s top picks in the NLF Draft held in Chicago. The Los Angeles Rams had the first overall pick at Thursday night’s National Football League draft in Chicago, and they chose Cal quarterback Jared Goff for their newly relocated franchise.
Fisher and Snead said they don’t necessarily expect Goff to start right away, perhaps allowing him to break in slowly.

Both are coming from programs that flew under the radar nationally, Goff from California and Wentz from Football Championship Subdivision North Dakota State. This is now the second straight year the 49ers have selected a defensive lineman in the first round of the NFL Draft out of OR after selecting Arik Armstead at No. 15 in 2015. Perhaps Ramsey, considered one of the best athletes and most NFL-ready players available.
“We had a little bit of an idea (I would go number one), but nothing set in stone yet”, Goff told the NFL Network after his selection.
It’s the first opening-round quarterback for the Eagles since they grabbed Donovan McNabb with the No. 2 pick in the 1999 draft.
Fact is, they preferred Goff all along, and used the two weeks in between the trade and making the first overall pick Thursday night simply to strengthen their conviction. “It’s awesome to see someone who I knew even before I even got to Cal go number one overall after everything we went through”, Cal defensive end Cameron Walker. Assistant athletic director Larry Gondola had Goff in two classes and says even when he was at Cal, he never forgot his roots. “I’m gonna prove them right and let them know they made the right decision”, Goff said.
“They’re going to see a competitor who is passionate about the game”, Wentz said.
It’s all about the quarterbacks at the top of the NFL Draft.
Tunsil’s agent said that the account was hacked but that, while the video was of his client, it may be up to five years old.
The video was quickly deleted and Tunsil suspended his Twitter account.
