Clinton, Trump Win Big, Look Toward November

As Trump and Clinton, fresh off big wins in five Northeastern state primaries on Tuesday, circled each other for a potential matchup in the November 8 U.S. presidential election, his comments portended what could be an unusually nasty campaign. I’m going to be taking a lot of the things that Bernie said and using them.

“We look forward to winning here in IN next Tuesday and in the few remaining states and territories holding primaries and caucuses in May and June”, Sanders’ campaign spokesman Michael Briggs said Wednesday. That strategy is based on the broad areas of overlap between voters attracted to Trump and those who have flocked to Sanders.

Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump’s claim that Hillary Clinton is playing “the woman’s card” has drawn intense backlash, from the Democratic front-runner herself as well as tens of thousands of critics on social media.

“Donald Trump is truly oblivious”, said Marcy Stech, a spokeswoman for Emily’s List, a group supporting Democratic, female candidates who back abortion rights. “Bernie Sanders has large crowds — not as large as Mr. Trump’s, but large crowds — and so there is a level of excitement there for people about his messaging and we will bring those people in”.

But given the vast geography of the state and the need to campaign hard in the most promising congressional districts, Cruz will at least have a seasoned partner on the campaign trail who has proven herself to be a skilled and tireless surrogate. Six in 10 Democrats said they would definitely support either Sanders or Clinton in the general election, the polls showed. So are the still widespread fears among Republicans that a Trump nomination would lead to a November bloodbath for their party. Though the clean sweep gave a big boost to Trump’s White House ambition, he still needs over 300 delegates to reach the magical number of 1,237 delegates required to bag the Republican presidential nomination.

“I get along with nearly everyone, but I have never worked with a more miserable son of a bitch in my life”, Boehner said.

“I feel that the core of both what Bernie’s movement is and Trump’s movement is, is the same”.

So, who will pay – the working middle class, that’s who. “This cry of change”.

“Frankly, if Hillary Clinton were a man, I don’t think she’d get 5 percent of the vote”.

“I don’t think there’s going to be any taboos with Donald Trump”, said James Pethokoukis, a scholar with the conservative American Enterprise Institute.

Trump, who can be as free with his personal attacks on men, has consistently polled poorly with women.

Clinton’s victories build on her resounding success in NY, which stunted Sanders’ momentum and left the Vermont Senator fending off calls from Clinton supporters to fold his campaign so that she can start exclusively targeting Republicans.

“Trump’s hurdle is, you can’t believe anything he says”, said David Mason, a 42-year-old Lafayette photographer. “But as people, they couldn’t be more different”.

The “woman card” Trump spoke of has nothing to do with Hillary “fighting” for progressive women’s issues. “So what Trump is doing is smart”.
