McQuarrie’s “Mission Impossible: Rogue Nation” is slated to premiere in theaters in the United States on July 31 while the release date of the “Mission: Impossible” follow-up film is yet to be announced.
Hollywood’s brightest star Tom Cruise says that he would like to be part of “Top Gun 2” if the opportunity presents itself.
During a guest appearance at the “The Daily Show with Jon Stewart” to promote “Rogue Nation“, Cruise revealed that he has plans to keep the film franchise going, saying that “Mission: Impossible 6” is an existing plan that would start production in 2016, reported by Deadline.
Cruise, who is famous for filming his own stunts, has starred in five Mission: Impossible films, with the latest – Mission: Impossible – Rogue Nation – out this week. Although not credited, McQuarrie had worked on the previous installment “Ghost Protocol“, in structuring the scenes, as said by Cruise.
Cruise also mentioned how he has approached his co-star Emily Blunt about returning, and said, “It could be so much fun”.
Distracting you from some of these directorial elements is some fantastic stunts that are all real, a feat that is mind-blowing for this day and age. “We did it eight times… we wanted to get it right”. A few of her fight sequences are so elaborate, they look more like complex yoga moves.
