Congressional GOP beginning to accept Trump as nominee
Walsh said women tend to vote not based on gender, but on sets of issues including economic security. She dismissed the notion that Republican primary voters are rejecting her characterization of Trump as a Clintonian liberal – in droves.

The general election will be a different story.
Some leading Republicans have forecast that a Trump candidacy could spell electoral disaster, help Democrats win back control of the Senate and even cost Republicans seats in the House. “There is no way I could vote for Cruz”, she said, who she considers “almost a theo-crat”. “Hillary’s very running has put women into this debate, with candidates feeling they have to respond, and that’s exciting”. She also gushes about being a grandmother and jokes about coloring her hair.
The Northeastern results are the latest example of a phenomenon seen throughout this Republican race: Voters in one state are not much moved by the choices of voters in an earlier contest.
Kasich supporters were hoping for a strong showing by their candidate in Fairfield County, the district U.S. Rep. Chris Shays, a top surrogate for the OH governor, represented for years.
Since his campaign began, Trump has uttered a litany of disparaging comments about women, including about Fiorina’s appearance, saying, “Look at that face”.
Yes, there are exceptions – anecdotes about elderly women who just want to vote for a woman before they die. The Texas senator announced Carly Fiorina this week as his running mate.
Planned Parenthood Action also retweeted a collection of suggested slogans for the Cruz/Fiorina ticket, which include “The Clown & The Frown” and “Only one of us knows how to use a computer”.
“He talks about being pro-jobs, and then he picks a vice presidential candidate in a desperate act who is the queen of outsourcing when she was in the corporate world”, he said. “That’s not going to be the deciding factor for most people”. Essentially, if he maintains the same level of voter support in the remaining contests he has had so far, victory is assured.
And at least three super PACs, including two explicitly backing Cruz, are spending more than $3.8 million – already nearly twice as much as those groups spent in Wisconsin. Fiorina, the former Hewlett-Packard chief executive, was frequently praised for her tough criticism of Clinton during her own presidential campaign. “If he believes what he’s talking about, he’s got to understand that he’s got to help her by toning it down”, Rendell said. I don’t care if he gargles peanut butter. That’s partly because registered Republicans are scarce on the ground in the Northeast: 37 percent of registered voters in Pennsylvania, between 21 and 29 percent in the other closed primary states. “I do think that a lot of the games that have been played in the states will not be played in Cleveland”. He would make it a crime for women to exercise her reproductive freedom, even in the cases of rape and incest. A Washington Post-ABC News poll this month found 64 percent of women feeling “strongly unfavorable” toward Trump, compared with 41 percent of men.

Debbie Walsh, director of the Center for American Women and Politics at the Eagleton Institute of Politics at Rutgers University, said Clinton is poised to benefit from Trump’s unfavorable ratings and any gap between women and men voters.
