Donald Trump’s list of media winners and ‘losers’

You were asked by a voter yesterday about Trump, and I know you generally don’t like to talk about Trump much.

Hours after a new poll showed him firmly in front of the crowded field for the Republican presidential nomination, Donald Trump announced Thursday that he’s hired a former aide to Sarah Palin as his national political director. John McCain’s military heroism, Palin – who was McCain’s running mate during his 2008 presidential bid – declined to knock Trump’s comments. “I am pleased to welcome Michael Glassner to our national campaign leadership team”, the statement read.

Glassner served as a top aide to Sarah Palin on Sen. He worked for Bob Dole in 1988 and 1996.

In an interview with Fox News in April 2011, Palin backed Trump’s questioning of the authenticity of President Barack Obama’s birth certificate.

CHRISTIE: That is not what I said, that is the way it was reported. John McCain’s, record as a war hero, telling CNN that she respected both men and criticizing McCain’s description of Trump supporters as “crazies” that initiated the entire dust-up.

While Glassner’s political experience may well prove to be an asset to Trump’s campaign, there is something nearly poetic about Trump tapping a former Palin adviser to run his campaign.

Trump signaled his fondness for Palin this week when he said he would “love” to appoint her as a member of his cabinet. “Everybody loves her”.

“I’m looking at some of these candidates – they’re weak, they’re ineffective, and to a degree that’s nearly hard to believe”, he added. How he handles the next several weeks will determine whether Trump has staying power or whether he will crash and burn the way Palin did in 2008.

Glassner will serve as the campaign’s national political director. You just don’t see very much of it anymore … she’s got a following that’s unbelievable.
