The new animated feature, due out in 2017, will revisit the world of wizardry originally created in the 1986 film, in which a wicked troll wizard plots to take over the world. John Carl Buechler said, “The original Troll film has achieved cult status, and based upon its success we believed that the timing was right to produce an updated 3D animated version for a whole new generation of filmgoers”.

Plans are underway to lock in the remainder of the voice cast, and Davy noted producers are “already in pre-production”.
