Warriors await MRI results on Curry’s injured knee

Draymond Green rebuked a reporter who tried to make a correlation between Golden State’s playoff wins in Houston and recent flooding in the area after the Warriors’ Game 4 victory on Sunday.

USA Today spoke with “a person of knowledge”, either close to Curry or the Warriors, and confirmed that the “fear” is a sprained MCL.

Curry joined in a five-on-five scrimmage during practice at Toyota Center in Houston.

San Antonio now awaits the victor of Oklahoma City-Dallas, a best-of-seven series that the Thunder lead 3-1.

The injury puts the Warriors in an unfortunate situation of playing without their top star in the series against Houston and their next series, either against Chris Paul’s Los Angeles Clippers or Damian Lillard’s Portland Trail Blazers.

Curry returned after missing two games with a sprained right ankle but did not play in the second half after spraining his right knee.

After slipping, Curry immediately clutched his knee and limped off to the locker room. After talking with coaches, he returned to the locker room. It was his first game since the tweak of his right ankle eight days earlier in Game 1, and his much-anticipated return was spoiled by the knee injury.

If you were to only look at the box score, you would have thought the Golden State Warriors’ resounding Game 4 victory over the Houston Rockets was yet another dominant entry in a historic season.

With that said, Curry said he is still struggling during full-speed drills and he is not quite pain-free.

“It was their call”, Curry said on Friday, via ESPN. Curry made a record 402 3-pointers, eclipsing his own previous mark by 116.

Shaun Livingston, who started the second half in place of Curry, finished with nine points and nine assists. In Game 3, Harden hit the game-winner but Howard did not even react to the shot putting speculations that he’s not happy at at all even though the Rockets got the upset win in the series.

Thompson is certainly concerned about Curry’s status but knows that they have to focus on what they have to do to win instead of feeling sorry for themselves. It’s likely that Curry will be rested or given minimal game time on Wednesday to give him the maximum possible opportunity to recover for the second-round playoffs.
