The film has emerged as the third highest opener of 2016, after Shah Rukh Khan’s “Fan” which earned Rs 19.20 cr and Akshay Kumar’s “Airlift” which raked in Rs 12.35 cr.
Trade analyst Komal Nahta tweeted: “#Baaghi Day 1: “11.87 crore, highest opening on a non-holiday for 2016 and second highest opening of year! Shraddha Kapoor’s previous year movie, ABCD 2 had also done a good business on box office.
Even though critics haven’t been too kind to Baaghi, the audience word-of-mouth seems to be working in the film’s favour. Hope we will soon see Tiger into another role in another new Movie. Made on a budget of Rs. 47 crores reportedly, the movie has been produced by Sajid Nadiadwala.

The domestic collections from the first week at the Indian box office is projected to cross Rs. 18 crores. On Friday, the movie was ideal for both the actors, especially from Shraddha, who had already marked her success with two 100 crores movies in Bollywood. In fact Baaghi opened to a spectacular start with estimated collections being pegged at United States dollars 850 K (Rs. 5.64 cr) with some screens and territories yet to report. The figure was three times than what Tiger’s debut “Heropanti” had earned.
