Hasib Bin Golamrabbi, the couple’s 22-year-old son and a San Jose State student who hadn’t been seen since the killings, was arrested in Tracy.

The brothers appeared in a San Jose courtroom Friday afternoon – though the younger one stayed in a hallway out of public sight – where both pleaded not guilty and were remanded back to the Santa Clara County Jail and Juvenile Hall by Judge Sharon Chatman.

Two San Jose, California, brothers have been arrested for the alleged murders of their parents – but the elder brother says the true story behind the slayings will come out at trial.

The parent’s bodies, each shot once, were left on the floor of their home in San Jose, next to a chilling note that read: ‘Sorry, my first kill was clumsy’. He said the two then went to an anime convention in Oakland, according to Guire.

The Rabbis are active in the local Islamic and Bangladeshi communities, but police quickly ruled out any connection between their deaths and a hate crime.

The older brother said in a jailhouse interview that he eventually wants to tell his story and that his brother was not involved in the killings.

Shamima, 57, and Golam, 59, were discovered at around 1.47pm on Sunday after police were dispatched to the house to investigate “suspicious circumstances”.

Police were able to make contact with Omar shortly after his parents’ bodies were discovered, but Hasib was missing until Wednesday night.

East Side Union High School District Superintendent Chris Funk confirmed that Hasib Bin Golamrabbi had been a student at Evergreen Valley High, and his 17-year-old brother is a senior there. But I can’t say anything without a lawyer.

A cousin of the brothers said she wasn’t that close to them, but she didn’t know of anything that would have caused a conflict between the brothers and their parents.

It was not immediately known if the brothers had retained attorneys.

Guire said police found writing on the walls of the home, one set of which matched Omar Golamrabbi’s writing that investigators found in a notebook.

Friends and family are shocked at the murders of the Rabbis, who immigrated to San Jose from Bangladesh more than three decades ago, according to the Chronicle. He recalled cautioning his friend to take care with the weapons. Wong, also a junior, said he saw the teen on campus on Monday, the day after his parents were found dead.

“I know Omar didn’t do anything”, he said in an email to this news organization. “But now it seems odd”. Although the police have already apprehended the suspects, the motives of the killings remained a mystery.

Mosque spokesman Faisal Yazadi did not know about the arrest of the younger son until notified by a reporter.

“We would like to ask the entire community to pray for the deceased and and may Allah (SWT) give their family strength to comprehend these troubling days”, the board of directors wrote on Tuesday.
