Will Parks drafted by the Denver Broncos in the 6th round

Much like John Elway’s first draft, the Broncos selected a safety on both the second and third day of the NFL Draft.

In three seasons at Georgia Tech, Gotsis recorded 11.5 sacks, paired with two fumble recoveries and two interceptions.

Parks becomes the first Wildcat selected in the NFL Draft since Ka’Deem Carey, Marquis Flowers and Shaquille Richardson in 2014.

Gotsis was the head of what has been touted as the brightest ever crop of Australian talent to become eligible for the draft, and finds himself in an excellent situation with a team that is obviously ready to contend for Super Bowl championships in the immediate future. “Irrelevant”, the 253rd and final pick of the 2016 draft.

The reigning Super Bowl champions took Parks with the third-to-last pick in the round, No. 219 overall.

Elway said as well as Gotsis’ “big athletic, strong, long” body which includes 87cm arms and massive 27.3cm hands, it was a face-to-face interview he had with the Australian at the National Football League combine in February in Indianapolis that helped win him over.

“He is a ideal fit in their system”, said McShay, describing Gotsis’ potential offensive line breaking power for the Broncos.

This is a solid pick up for the Broncos late in the 6th round.

Rounds four to seven will take place on Saturday (Sunday AEST).

Other Australians hoping to be picked include punters Alex Kinal (Wake Forest), Lachlan Edwards (Sam Houston State) and Jamie Keehn (Louisiana State) and offensive lineman Blake Muir (Baylor).
