LBs Jack, Smith go early in 2nd round of NFL draft

On Thursday, ESPN Analyst, Todd McShay suggested Jack, prior to the injury may have been the best defensive prospect in the draft, and even after the injury, would likely slide to somewhere in the first round, likely between 12 and 17.

Carolina Panthers General Manager Dave Gettleman said he wasn’t surprised that Jack had fallen out of the first round, despite his ability as a football player.

Ramsey said he felt the vibe in Jacksonville on his pre-draft visit and during Friday’s introductory press conference said he feels the Jaguars are a ideal fit for him. Well it looks like Jacksonville is taking that risk selecting Jack as the 5th player taken in Round 2.

Jack has also made sure to get word like this out there so everyone could hear it.

When the Cowboys took Elliott, and Ramsey fell to the Jags, the franchise went from a good young team to a risky young team.

“I like where we are, ” Jones said. He is adamant that he’ll be at rookie minicamp. The knee shouldn’t be a concern anymore. “I’m healthy and I’m good”.

Jack fell to the 2nd round and the Jags snatched him up quickly Friday at No. 36 overall.

Jack’s own knee issue creates uncertainty about how long he’ll be able to play, but there’s less doubt in the short term and that should help the Jaguars’ overall effort to move up in the standings right away. “I definitely wanted to go to Jacksonville”. It was an empty feeling. I woke up that morning and I was ready to rock.

Caldwell was also impressed by Jack’s mental toughness while dealing with a major injury. People will at least call the move “safe” because Aguayo is seen as a “can’t miss” kicker, but the last time that a kicker went in the second round or higher was 2005, when the Jets selected Mike Nugent; Though Nugent has had a long career, he only spent four years with NY and has yet to make a Pro Bowl at this point.

Let us know where you think Jack will fall in the poll, and tell us why in the comments section below. The first and only Crimson Tide player to go in the first round was center Ryan Kelly at No. 18. The talented defender totaled 178 tackles with 15 for a loss and three interceptions in his freshman and sophomore seasons.

The second and third rounds came and went without any players drafted from the Washington or Washington State getting drafted.

“I don’t know nothing about that”, he said.

“Kenny’s a guy who’s not going to say much, but he’s going to do a lot”, Mora said.

Jack has been an outstanding linebacker for UCLA the past two seasons, but teams are anxious about the status of his knee.
