Disney Offering Fairy Tale Weddings in Magic Kingdom

The downside? Cost aside, package ceremonies are now only available at 9:30 am, when the park is open to the public, but if you’re open to the idea of the public being semi privy to your nuptials, this truly is the ultimate in Disney weddings.

Disney World has previously restricted Magic Kingdom weddings to the train station at the base of Main Street U.S.A.

The park has launched a new website, http://www.disneyweddings.com, with planning and pricing information. It is called, appropriately enough, Disney’s Fairy Tale Weddings. According to the newspaper, brides will be able to ride into the East Plaza Garden in Cinderella’s coach and be heralded by uniformed trumpeters. A vintage jitney has already deposited your husband-to-be at the Magic Kingdom’s hub. – For the first time, couples will be able to have their wedding at Disney’s Magic Kingdom. That’s right: Couples can tie the knot in the shadow of Cinderella’s castle.

Walt Disney World said “I do” to Magic Kingdom weddings during park hours, announcing Friday it will begin hosting 9:30 a.m. ceremonies at the East Plaza Garden near Cinderella’s Castle. Disney World has been offering wedding services for many years.

For a small, intimate wedding with only four guests, the theme park offers a more affordable $2,500 package, while a fully customized affair can cost up to an eye-watering $75,000. For their receptions, couples can choose among a variety of locations throughout the vast resort, although the East Plaza Garden will only be available for ceremonies.
