Sharing a lengthy statement after spending time at the hospital, Berry said that friends, other sorority sisters and family members had gone to the hospital to mourn the loss of the young ladies, as well as pray for the recovery of Kim.
Kendra Hansey, right, cries as she embraces a student during a memorial for University of Georgia students that were killed Wednesday in a vehicle crash, Thursday, April 28, 2016 in Athens, Ga.
Kim was in a coma late Thursday, her pastor, Lee Mason of Classic City Church in Athens, was quoted by The Atlanta Journal-Constitution as saying. The Oconee County Sheriff’s Office said one auto involved, the Toyota, had a Gwinnett County tag.
Pilcher said that Short, who was also taken to Athens Regional after the crash, has been released from the hospital.
The Cobalt driver, Abby Short, 27, of Demorest, Georgia, was taken to a hospital but her condition wasn’t available, authorities said.
The crash occurred when the students’ auto crashed with another vehicle on Georgia Highway 15 in Oconee County, which neighbors Clarke County where UGA is located. We pray for Agnes, who remains in critical condition, that she may be healed.
While addressing the media, the university president Jere Morehead called the accident “truly devastating”. Pilcher said he couldn’t comment further on Kim’s medical condition due to federal privacy laws. The Georgia State Patrol, which is investigating the wreck, says alcohol didn’t seem to play a role, according to the outlet.
Deal said “Today, we are all Bulldogs”, referring to Georgia’s mascot. There would also be a chance to remember the students who died Wednesday later Thursday at 5 p.m.at the Tate Student Center Plaza, Morehead said.
UGA students held a beginning vigil at midnight that attracted a crowd of about 200 people. “It was such a blessing to see so many come to support the families and Agnes as she recovers”.
