Mauricio Pochettino’s side appeared to be on course for a crucial victory once Craig Dawson’s own goal had put Spurs in front, but the hosts went off the boil in the second half.

Dejected Spurs react after conceding a goal, levelling the scores at 1-1 during the Barclays Premier League match between Tottenham Hotspur and West Bromwich Albion at White Hart Lane on April 25, 2016 in London, England.

Fletcher believes the ability to grind out results when not performing at their best is a mark of title-winning sides and he feels that is something Spurs still need to learn. “We’re a team battling for all our lives, desperate for points and desperate to put a performance in after Arsenal where people were saying we’re on the beach” Fletcher said.

“They showed belief and they scored, so we need to capitalise on our chances more and use that experience next season”.

“Mathematically it is still possible”, he said.

“We need to be strong in our mind and prepare for the next game”.

“But we can’t control them, we haven’t been able to control them for the last few weeks”.

“To create chances and score, we didn’t kill the game and we can speak a lot about different things”.

“I’m really pleased with the players, their effort”.

Leicester need just three points from their final three games to seal the title and Spurs must grab at least seven points to win the title.

Leicester, conveyed by Thai billionare Vichai Srivaddhanaprabha, have never won the English top-flight title. “Hopefully Manchester United can do us a favor”. We’ve just got to do what we can do. At no time did they do anything slightly different to grab the game back from West Brom.

Urged on by an animated Pulis, West Brom were content to slow the game down and they committed niggling fouls throughout, frustrating the home crowd and leading Dele Alli to lash out against Claudio Yacob – an incident could earn the youngster a retrospective ban. All we can do is keep fighting.

“It is true that it is very hard, more difficult than before the game, but we still believe and we are still fighting”.
