The Palestinian Health Ministry identified the woman as Maram Abu Ismail, 23, and her 16-year-old brother as Ibrahim Taha.
A spokesperson for Palestinian Red Crescent Society told Mondoweiss two ambulances were dispatched to transport the Palestinians, one on the Jerusalem side of the checkpoint and one on the West Bank side.
The witnesses added that another Palestinian young man who approached the woman’s body was also shot dead by Israeli soldiers, adding that the soldiers prevented Palestinian ambulances from approaching both bodies.
Witnesses told Ma’an that nearly 130 Jewish Israelis raided the Aqsa compound under armed guard via the Moroccan gate in occupied East Jerusalem’s Old City.
In fact, 64 percent of Palestinians indicated they have no interest in working with like-minded Israelis to find a non-violent solution.
Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has ordered an investigation on Tuesday into a Palestinian school in East Jerusalem after it invited the father of a Palestinian assailant to speak to students. However, Israeli forces closed the checkpoint and surrounding vicinity of the shooting.
A Palestinian man sits atop the rubble of a house which was destroyed by Israeli troops during an Israeli raid in the West Bank city of Jenin September 1, 2015. Only foreign nationals, Israeli citizens and Palestinians with Jerusalem identification cards can access Jerusalem through the vehicle lanes.

The incident is the latest in a wave of violence that has killed 203 Palestinians and 28 Israelis since last October.
