Ghana forward Ayew was on target either side of a wonderful strike from Jack Cork to move Swansea onto 43 points and guarantee they will be playing in the English top-flight next season.

The attacker’s header put the Welsh side ahead on 20 minutes before a lovely Jack Cork goal ensured they headed into the half-time break two goals clear.

Former Liverpool defender Phil Babb does not believe Daniel Sturridge will be handed a start by Jurgen Klopp on Thursday night against Villarreal.

In addition to the disastrous performance of Liverpool, another thing which the camera of BT Sport captured today was the response of Daniel Sturridge at full time.

Brad Smith was harshly sent off for two bookings late on.

Only Philippe Coutinho, Nathaniel Clyne and Dejan Lovren survived and Klopp’s starting line up was the youngest Liverpool had ever sent out in the Premier League.

“I say many times I want to stay”.

The Swans seemed to have turned a corner when they beat Chelsea three weeks ago, but since then they have conceded seven goals in two games without scoring in reply.

As good as Swansea’s first-half performance was, it was hard to judge given the changes which Klopp had made.

“We will go there [at Swansea City] and try to win”.

She writes: “He was pleased, he said, that his players could prove that they were “not on the beach”, which served only to prompt images of the Liverpool players kicking at sandcastles while licking at melting ice lollies”.

Fortunately Swansea are just as bad at dealing with dead-ball situations as we are, and that allowed substitute Christian Benteke to stoop for our 65th-minute response.

Swansea City had finally got a second first half goal that they attacking play deserved. “I’m only disappointed because I know we could have played better”.
