Ted Cruz Calls for Another GOP Debate
Former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton and business mogul Donald Trump won easy victories in the NY state primaries on Tuesday, winning both the state and Onondaga County.

He was hoping to win more than 50 percent of the vote in NY against rivals Ted Cruz, a USA senator from Texas, and Ohio Governor John Kasich. Bernie Sanders’ assessment that Democratic rival Hillary Clinton isn’t qualified to be president – interpreting the Vermont lawmaker’s pronouncement as a condemnation of her “bad judgment”.
The next phase of presidential primaries is very important for both Mr Trump and Ms Clinton as they aim to achieve the target of necessary delegates to become the party’s nominee for the November elections. In the Democratic camp, Hillary Clinton appears to be coasting along to a nomination. Bernie Sanders is trailing, with almost 1,200. Candidates require 1,237 delegates to win the nomination. Whatever others may think, Mr. Trump thinks that time has come.
Cruz and the rest of the Republican Party have put themselves in a situation where they will truly have to “poach and pilfer delegates here and there” as Buchanan says, to revive themselves from the knockout blows that Trump has thrown at the establishment.
In the NBC interview, portions of which were broadcast on “Nightly News” on Thursday, Sanders said that his path to the nomination is “not unrealistic” but added: “It’s a hard path”.
He saluted his family and campaign staff, saying it had been “an incredible night, an incredible week”.
Trump’s dominance on Long Island gave LaValle hope that Trump can win New York State in a general election.
He left NY before the polls closed, turning his attention to Pennsylvania, where he delivered a speech calling on Americans to join together to move the country forward. “The truth is, after April 26, there just simply is not enough real estate left for Senator Sanders to close the commanding lead that we’ve built”, he said.
If Clinton were to win four or five states Tuesday, as preference polling suggests, she will extend her pledged delegate lead to about 300.
In western New York, Sanders lost only Erie County – by only 812 votes.
As for his own performance in the NY contest, Kasich quipped, “I won Manhattan”.

Clinton also has financial support through outside groups known as “Super PACs”, which are entities that can raise and spend as they please in support of or opposition to a candidate, without directly working with a campaign.
