Malia has shown an interest in filmmaking and had an internship on the set of HBO’s show “Girls” last summer. Harvard said little on Sunday beyond confirming that Malia had accepted an offer of admission and had deferred enrollment for a year.
He says a student might not be a good fit if he or she doesn’t have a clear plan of learning or enrichment activities during the time off, or doesn’t feel that they are academically burnt out and are looking forward to classes. “And I was asked if I would speak at her graduation, and I said, “Absolutely not, ‘ because I’m going to be sitting there with dark glasses, sobbing”. “She’s one of my best friends”. Though her father and mother both had critically successful college careers during their time at Harvard, it was not clear she would go there until she wore the crimson-colored Harvard t-shirt during her elite high school’s college signing day.
He said he told his oldest child “not to stress too much about having to get into one particular college”.
Both the president and First Lady are Harvard Law grads and have four Ivy League degrees between them.
Born in Chicago on July 4, 1998, Malia Obama attended the private University of Chicago Laboratory Schools before she and her family entered the White House in 2009.
Malia Obama is said to be an aspiring filmmaker. “We’re going to have to stay a couple of years so Sasha can finish”.
In the ’90s, President Obama even made headlines for becoming the first black president of the Harvard Law Review, the most prestigious in the country.
Malia also checked out the University of California, Berkeley; Stanford; New York University; the University of Pennsylvania; Barnard; Tufts; Brown; Yale and Wesleyan.
