Less than 24 hours after the NFL Draft, the Bears roster already looks completely different.

There were rumors that the Bears were shopping Slauson during the draft to pick up an extra pick. Another top free agent safety could be James Idehigbo, who had a nice season for the Detroit Lions a year ago and appears to still have some productivity in him.
Slauson has been with the Bears for the last three seasons, playing at both left guard and center for the Bears in his career. The deal is worth $2 million, a source told ESPN’s Adam Caplan.
Glenn Gronkowski, a Kansas State fullback and the youngest brother of Rob Gronkowski, agreed to terms with the Buffalo Bills as an undrafted free agent. Or maybe it was strictly a financial move with the Bears not wanting to pay $3M+ for a backup linemen. Since 2011, Cutler has missed 14 games due to injury. I’m at a loss, but maybe time will shed some light on the decision.
Pace can say what he wants about respecting Rolle and Slauson, but if the team truly respected them they would have been cut at a time when they would have had a much better opportunity to find work elsewhere.
The Strong Safety made 35 tackles and had one pass deflection in 2015 season and suffered an MCL sprain in November. By all reports he was a good leader in the clubhouse and had a positive impact on rookie Adrian Amos, but his $6M price tag over the next two seasons was a bit much for a glorified coach.
