Ghostbusters reboot trailer ‘most disliked of all time’
Even before production began, there was already a decent amount of outrage and hate for the film.

The movie reboot will star Melissa McCarthy, Kristen Wiig, Kate McKinnon, Leslie Jones and Chris Hemsworth.
As Screen Crush observed, the two-and-a-half minute clip is the most “disliked” film trailer on video sharing website YouTube. Find out more after the jump.
Overall the trailer has had almost 30 million views since its release on March 3rd, with 610,000 viewers choosing to hit the dislike button and just over 214,450 giving it a thumbs up.
Those behind the film can take some comfort in knowing it’s not the most disliked video overall on YouTube. At this rate, the trailer might have one million dislike votes by the time it comes out.
When the first look at footage from Paul Feig’s female-fronted Ghostbusters reboot debuted in March, the reaction encompassed outrage not only that the beloved comedy was being remade, but that the lead characters’ genders would be altered. That just doesn’t make sense.
The trailer of one of 2015’s deepest film slumps, “Fantastic Four”, Marvel’s reboot of the Manhattan mutants got only about 20,175 dislikes.
Traditionally, the most disliked videos on YouTube are also highly viewed and loved at the same time.
“The haters on our trailer were very proud of the fact they had racked up 400,000 [currently 600,000] dislikes on YouTube versus 200,000 likes”. The top slots are a mix of Justin Bieber music videos, Miley Cyrus music videos, Nicki Minaj music videos, and dispatches from a foreign vlogger named Aruan Felix. Sure, the internet is known for blind rage and hyperbolic hate, but this is just ridiculous and unfounded. But more importantly, a record number “disliked” the trailer.
Are you stoked for the return of the OG Ghostbusters to movie theaters? Another asks, “Did Melissa McCarthy get famous from being fat?” “When are people going to learn that women aren’t amusing?”, added another guy.

Sony have reportedly been deleting the more extreme comments, but now, there are some people actually, literally wishing death on director Paul Feig (these people may need to take a deep breath and chill the fuck out). We know we will!
