The HP Chromebook 13 is encased in an anodized aluminum chassis that offers a premium and professional look. HP introduced this new device at an event earlier today at Google’s NY office. The Chromebook 13 spots a 13.3-inch display capable of rendering 3200 x 1800 resolution. More capable Core m3, m5 and m7 processors become available as you progress to higher models, alongside additional storage and memory configurations.
There’s no news on a United Kingdom release date or price yet, but the Chromebook 13 goes on sale for $499 (£342) in the U.S. from both HP and the Chrome for Work site next month.
The Chromebook 13 has multiple USB-C ports, USB ports and is 0.5-inches thick and 2.89 lbs. The Chromebook 13 runs Chrome OS with features like Lucid Sleep and multi-layer security. The Chromebook 13 looks nice and feels well made. And on the other hand it also have HP’s new signature Bang and Olufsen speaker systems that sounds far better in comparison with their previous generation Beats solution that were unloaded to Apple in the Beats acquit ion.
You can still buy a 99 model with a Core i7 CPU, 16GB of RAM and 64GB of storage though. Business users who need enterprise-grade remote desktop and virtual private network support will find that the Chromebook 13 is ready for VDI and VPN from vendors like Citrix, VMWare, and Cisco, too. HP claims that the notebook will also give up to 11.5 hours of battery life, which is quite similar to the MacBook Air. With the Chromebook 13 docked into the Elite USB-C Docking Station, users will be able to connect two HD monitors, wired accessories like a keyboard and mouse and get Ethernet connectivity. It’s built on the Chrome Web Browser and its cloud-based apps such as Google Docs for productivity and Gmail for email.

This would significantly increase the interest in Chrome OS, however considering the HP Chromebook 13 lacks a touchscreen playing Angry Birds on your laptop may still prove hard.
