Cruz to hang in as long as he has ‘viable path’
Cruz was holding five events across IN on Monday.

Siddiqui says it’s Sen. Ted Cruz. It’s one of the reasons Gov. John Kasich stepped aside in the state and stopped campaigning, clearing the path for Cruz but that hasn’t worked.
“I have defended the Second Amendment in front of the Supreme Court”, the Texas senator said.
‘That is the reality of it. The media created this Trump phenomenon… and then they don’t hold him accountable’.
“Indiana is very important, because if I win that’s the end of it”, Trump said at an unscheduled stop at Shapiro’s Delicatessen in Indianapolis.
On Meet The Press on Sunday, Cruz refused to give a straight answer as to whether he would support Trump as the Republican nominee.
Brushing aside Knight’s controversial past-including being fired from Indiana University for “uncivil, defiant and unacceptable behavior”-he’s still a living legend in the state, and it’ll be interesting to see if it affects the way that Indiana votes”. Do you know that Donald Trump supported the Clinton ban on firearms? “It’s where he says that it’s make-or-break for him”, Trump campaign manager Corey Lewandowski said.
Trump has been critical of Cruz even picking a vice-presidential candidate in light of the fact that Trump is leading the race for delegates. And he published an op-ed in the Indianapolis Star explaining his choice, praising Cruz’s comprehensively conservative platform.
Trump can’t win enough delegates Tuesday to clinch the Republican nomination. Indiana Governor Mike Pence will join Cruz.
Though Cruz came in a distant third place in the March 1 primary, the Texas senator’s supporters have proved more organized at electing delegates. Only 22 percent of likely Republican voters said the alliance was a major factor in their decision, according to an NBC News/Wall Street Journal/Marist poll.
Trump’s unfavorable numbers are at more than 60% in a recent RealClearPolitics poll average.
Four days later inside this cafe, Cruz continued to push Indiana’s importance to picking the GOP nominee, telling a supporter: “It’s going to be up to the people of IN”.
Trump’s team sensed an IN knockout.
However, since Democrats divide delegates proportionately, Clinton is assured of getting a good hunk of Indiana’s 83 delegates – regardless of the outcome. Cruz has 565 and Kasich has 153.
Clinton, with her formidable lead over Bernie Sanders, needs only 21 percent of remaining Democratic delegates to win her party’s nomination.
“If we win IN, it’s over”, Trump told supporters Monday during a rally IN Carmel. Manago said, “Despite the mayhem that follows Trump – Trump stays high in the polls”.

In that scenario, Trump would need just 39 percent of remaining delegates in a map that favors the billionaire frontrunner, polling well ahead in both largest states, California and New Jersey.
