Google acquires training service Synergyse, will integrate into Apps later this year
Founded in 2013 by ex-Googlers, Synergyse helps users keep up with the various updates that Google rolls out to their services on a almost weekly basis. Organizations that use Synergyse see on average 35 percent higher adoption across Apps products, meaning those organizations are more likely to be productive, collaborative and embrace digital transformation.

The company did not disclose the financial terms of the transaction.
The best news is that Synergyse will now be free for all Google Apps users. We don’t know how much Google paid for this acquisition, but it certainly seems like a ideal match. But Google didn’t bite for that reason alone. Its core product is a training software, or “virtual coach”, for companies using Google’s apps for work like Gmail, Drive and Docs – a model that means it would eventually either be subsumed by Google or destroyed by it. Google naturally wants to grow that figure, but for the businesses that do sign up, the company also naturally wants them to keep coming back. “That is why we’re happy to announce Synergyse will be joining Google, and we intend to make the product available as an integral part of the Google Apps offering later this year”. Synergyse says its service has trained over 4 million people in 3,000 organizations so far. Google said it will integrate Synergize Training into Google Apps “later this year”.
The Mountain View, Calif. -based Internet giant said Monday it has acquired Synergyse, a Canadian startup that offers a training platform for Google’s popular cloud-based office productivity suite.
Ex-Google employees, Varun Malhotra and Majid Manzarpour founded the organization in February 2013. “Advancing our mission at a faster speed is very exciting for the Synergyse team and our customers will directly see the benefits as we move forward”, Synergyse said.

While Google has focused a lot of its efforts in wooing enterprise customers on the security-end of things, training could be a new way to ensure customer satisfaction and continued adoption.
