Disney’s “The Jungle Book” swings past $600M at global box office

Keanu, the feature debut for comics Keegan Michael-Key and Jordan Peele, fell into third place by a cat’s nose with $9.35 million for its debut weekend. The Jungle Book retained the top spot for the third straight week grossing $42.4 million, which brings its total gross to over $250 million. As a result, the movie has boasted unusually strong legs, declining just 40 percent its second weekend and just 31 percent this weekend. Key & Peele’s R-rated goofball comedy ‘Keanu’ claimed $9.3 million from almost 2,700 screens. It cost about US$15 million to make. Actually, Keanu, Mother’s Day, and Ratchet & Clank didn’t even match Disney’s giant when combining their three weekend totals. ‘Mother’s Day, ‘ $8.3 million ($2.1 million international). 5. The critically-adored family flick records the seventh best third weekend ever, beating Zootopia’s third weekend when it earned $37.2 million and Age of Ultron’s $38.9 million, and just missingThe Dark Knight’s $42.7 million.
