Uncharted 4 multiplayer maps and modes will be free for all

To begin, Cogburn doubled down on the studio’s ambition to launch DLC that is accessible to everyone, ensuring “that the Uncharted 4 Multiplayer community won’t be fragmented by different types of DLC, and that those who are loyal in participating in the community will be rewarded”.

The main reason Naughty Dog wanted to release all of the maps and modes for free was to preserve the multiplayer community. “Each Chest will contain new gameplay items…Over time, Naughty Dog will release a variety of new maps, modes and gameplay items at no additional cost (including Co-op), that will introduce new rules and play styles”. An identical plan for all buyers of the game that will last until the spring of next year with a constancy and least enviable frequency. To get these, players will need to complete daily challenges and win matches to earn relics.

Naughty Dog goes into further detail in the blog post on how the entire multiplayer experience was crafted and how it’s going to function in Uncharted 4: A Thief’s End. Relics will be used to buy Chests, which will drop items at random.

Meanwhile, developer Naughty Dog also cautions hardcore fans to be vigilant about story spoilers online, after it is reported that a number of copies of “Uncharted 4” were stolen while in transit in the UK. No one will be able to get a DLC item using Uncharted Points exclusively, meaning everyone can ultimately get the items, helping keep things open to everyone. If you have or a thinking or getting the Triple Pack then you’ll gain access to a single player story add on and two multiplayer packs when they’re available.
