Current Eagles manager Alan Pardew played in that match 26 years ago, which United won 1-0 in a replay after a 3-3 draw in the original encounter.

A back-flicked header by Andy Thorn from a corner led to Pardew’s headed victor against Liverpool.

Palace went ahead early when winger Yannick Bolasie headed his team ahead in the 6th minute after a corner from Yohan Cabaye was flicked on at the near post by Damien Delaney.

“The 1990 semi got a couple of mentions in the build-up”, Pardew admitted after the 2-1 win. Sometimes history does repeat itself.

Despite only one win from their last 18 league games, Pardew’s men were enjoying their best Cup run for over two decades and they took just six minutes to seize the initiative.

Palace will get the chance to win their first-ever FA Cup on 21 May against Louis van Gaal’s side.

“But Crystal Palace have a great team and a great manager, and congratulations to them”.

“But to boss the game for 80 minutes, which I think we did, is a tribute to the players”. They have an honesty about them, and that was out on the pitch today. They were always going to have a period and we saw that through.

Ferguson went on to achieve unprecedented success with United, winning 13 Premier League titles and four more FA Cups during a trophy-laden career before retiring in 2013.

“I hope the destiny isn’t the same result”, he added.

Some fans have also been critical of the team’s style of play and there was no shortage of negativity on social media following the team’s performance at Wembley.

The 1990 runners-up deserve their place in the tournament finale on the day, with Watford only seriously kicking into life following the break.

“Is it a success already to reach the final?”

Martial created Marouane Fellaini’s first-half opener but that was canceled out by Chris Smalling’s own goal and the semifinal was heading to extra time. “We have reason to be happy”. If the club want to talk to me I am open but we will see but it not necessary to talk about me.

“The rest during the midweek did me well because I felt a little bit more on my toes, fresh, anticipating”. I’m back at Palace now so I’m just looking forward to the final.

Martial’s match-winning moment demonstrated why United were willing to commit up to 80 million euros ($90 million) past year on acquiring a largely unproven teenager who is now 20 and a France global forward.
