However, he also mentioned that Marvel Studios has only begun writing the script for “Spider-Man Homecoming”, and nothing is set in stone just yet until the final version of the script is finished.

Holland is the third movie Spider-Man, but he could have been the fourth or fifth or eighth if some of the previous Wall-Crawler movies that were planned had actually panned out. This is probably why Joe and Anthony chose to just focus on the movie superheroes to make the upcoming film a little bit manageable. It’s been almost ten years since the first Iron Man hit theaters and introduced us to the Marvel Cinematic Universe.

Robert Downey Jr. says he’s open to returning for another Iron Man movie. The actor also appeared as part of the cast or in cameo roles in other films in the Marvel movie franchise, including “The Incredible Hulk” in 2008, “The Avengers” in 2012, “Avengers: Age of Ultron” in 2015, this year’s “Captain Marvel” installment, and the upcoming “Spider-Man: Homecoming”, which will be released in 2017.
