Foxes Boss Ranieri Proud Of Title Win

Two years ago Tim Sherwood accused Tottenham of “lacking guts and character” following a 4-0 defeat at Stamford Bridge but Pochettino’s side are these days made of sterner stuff. I think it’s a fantastic season for them.

Second-half goals from Gary Cahill and Eden Hazard were enough to finally down second-placed Spurs’ charge but the night, and season, belongs to Leicester and their Italian manager.

So Leicester goes bonkers, and here’s the cherry on top: The cost of the entire payroll for the Foxes team this year totals less than the salary paid to one player on some of the big-spending clubs in the Premier League, all of whom will finish below Leicester City this year.

The Foxes were 5,000/1 outsiders at the start of the season and among the favourites for relegation but in nine unforgettable months they have turned their “Impossible Dream” into reality by claiming a first top-flight title in their 132-year history.

Still, this is just one giant learning curve for a young squad who will only continue to get better with each passing day and for the next five years with Mauricio Pochettino.

“I think the FA should take the occasion into consideration”.

Spurs let a two-goal lead slip at Chelsea on Monday and in so doing ended any faint hopes they had of picking up the Premier League title. I’m not saying before it didn’t hurt but now we’ve got something to play for.

No sports team has defied such odds to triumph and Leicester’s improbable success has provided a feel-good story for a country divided as it prepares to vote on whether to remain in the European Union.

Thus there is only one thing left to say: congratulations Leicester City.

“It’s football, we are men, they are men we need to show we are strong”. We are ready to compete in the market and try to add the players that can help us in the future.

“You must not have these type of incidents but it happens and at the end we must all calm down”.

Chelsea, buoyed by the introduction of Hazard, were right back in it in the 58th minute thanks to Gary Cahill’s strike, leaving a nervous 32 minutes for both Spurs and Leicester, whose players watched the game at Jamie Vardy’s house. The last time the North London club won the league, it was broadcast in black and white.

Asked for his verdict on Tottenham’s players afterwards, TV pundit Murphy told the BBC Sport website: “Spurs didn’t lose the title tonight, they played well for large periods”.

“It is important we concentrate on working hard to continue performing well next season”. “An extraordinary, thoroughly deserved, Premier League title”.
