“Dragon Quest XI” Announced; Not Exclusive To Nintendo Co

However, no further details about the Nintendo NX editions of “Dragon Quest X” and “Dragon Quest XI” were discussed after it was mentioned in passing.

It has been revealed that the PS4 version of the game will make use of Unreal Engine 4, and the developers will try to utilize the engine’s capabilities to the fullest in the game.

Originally released as “Dragon Warrior” back in 2005 stateside, the Dragon Quest series has been known as one of the best selling console RPGs in gaming. It is set to release in late 2016 or early 2017.

What’s notable about releasing across multiple platforms is the fact that, previously, Dragon Quest games were released onto whatever the most popular console of the time was, swapping between Nintendo and Sony in the past.

One of the main features showcased from the 3DS version is its joint 3D and 2D display.

Dragon Quest XI was recently announced for the PS4 and Nintendo 3DS.

IGN reports that both “Dragon Quest X” and “XI” are in consideration for the NX console, rather than truly confirmed. The new game was announced by publisher Square Enix at a press conference yesterday.

“Though I cannot confirm when it will be launched or any other details of the system, since I have athat we do not intend it to become a simple “replacement” for Nintendo 3DS or Wii U”, Nintendo CEO Satoru Iwata said during the company’s earnings report back in May as reported by GameSpot.
