According to neighbors, it isn’t unusual to see alligators near the waterways of the neighborhood, but none of the neighbors could recall ever seeing one on the front porch of a home.
“He was walking around in front of a couple of houses down in the cul-de-sac area”, he told the TV station. Took a couple videos.
The gator was spotted and videoed by Gary Rogers, who was out walking his dog when he noticed the reptile wandering around the neighborhood. He was trying to climb the fence a couple times. “He was just kind of trying to find his way out. Had no place to go”.
He said after a while, the alligator left the porch and returned to the woods.
When Rogers was interviewed by ABC News, he said that the alligator “was not aggressive at all”.

The Post and Courier reports that homeowner Jamie Bailey wasn’t there at the time and said she was in “disbelief” when she heard about the visit to her front door.
