The unidentified man was seen sprinkling a liquid on food carts just after 9 a.m. on Sunday, April 24, in a Washtenaw County grocery store, according to an Federal Bureau of Investigation news release.

The FBI is investigating, and said that initial tests of the mystery liquid came back negative for harmful substances, according to Fox 2 Detroit.

Officials now say the man struck at least three grocery stores.

One man, however, doesn’t hold the prepared food at Whole Foods in high regard.

She told the Ann Arbor News an employee witnessed a man pouring liquid on items at the food bars and alerted a manager.

All the food was disposed after the staffer reported what they had seen, Whole Foods said. Whole Foods Market stores are known for their fanciful displays – but more pre-packaged foods means customers at 365 stores can get in and get out with the food they want to buy and eat instead of cook and eat.
