The fund, established by the Community Foundation of Greater Flint, is a supplemental… It means that the plaintiffs will only get an injunction which would stop the city of Flint from providing contaminated water to its residents.

Shannon Nobles of Lansing, Michigan, joined the crowd outside the Michigan State Capitol on Tuesday to stand in support with residents of Flint.
When we spoke with Schuette in January, he promised people behind this “catastrophe”, as he calls it, will be held accountable. The river had a reputation for nastiness.
State Attorney General Bill Schuette is expected to announce that up to four officials connected to the city of Flint and the Michigan Department of Environmental Quality will be slapped with felony and misdemeanor charges, according to the paper.
A statement provided no other details on what they would say.
“Lt. Gov. Calley is in Flint two to three days every week”, Snyder spokesman Ari Adler said in an e-mail responding to the mayor’s comments. Some still do not trust what comes out of their faucets, even though the city rejoined the Detroit-area water system last fall and anticorrosive phosphates are being added.
For almost 18 months after Flint’s water source was switched while the city was under state financial management, residents drank and bathed with improperly treated water that coursed through aging pipes and fixtures, releasing toxic lead. Residents said it often looked dirty. A task force appointed by Snyder has said the DEQ was the primary culprit because regulators misinterpreted a federal rule in telling Flint water officials not to treat the Flint River for corrosion until after two six-month monitoring periods.
That move was a decision made by the state, and it turned out to be a bad one. Due to the increase of lead in the water, many residents have been reported to be ill, in addition to at least a dozen dying due to the poison water.

But prosecutors had other tools at their disposal, including subpoena power that enabled them to secure documents from city, state and federal agencies, according to this person.

“To help support this effort…I filled up a bunch of gallon jugs, so I’m going to drink filtered Flint water from this wonderful home I visited”, Snyder told a group of reporters.
