Kasich To End White House Bid, Clear Trump’s Path To Nomination
INDIANAPOLIS (AP) – Ohio Gov. John Kasich is leaving the Republican presidential contest, giving Donald Trump a clear path to his party’s nomination.

After Cruz suspended his run, RNC Chairman Reince Priebus declared Trump the party’s “presumptive nominee”. The campaign did not immediately respond to Reuters’ request for comment. Ted Cruz of Texas quit the race Tuesday night following the NY tycoon’s decisive primary win in Indiana.
The Ohio governor is expected to deliver a statement at 5 p.m. ET Wednesday, in Columbus, Ohio.
