Desert Trip dubbed ‘Coachella for old people’
The iconic artists have been confirmed for the October 7-9 concert at the Empire Polo field in Indio, in the California desert, an event being billed by music lovers as one of the greatest concerts ever.

The Rolling Stones and Bob Dylan will kick off the first night, Paul McCartney and Neil Young + Promise of Real will serve up a second night of classic rock, with Roger Waters and The Who rounding off the weekend as the official line-up for Desert Trip is released. The performance roster includes 1969 Woodstock veterans Neil Young and The Who, and two legendary acts Paul McCartney and the Rolling Stones.
“This ticket price is very reasonable”, Waddell said.
Though the pricing plans are similar to the recent Coachella and Stagecoach festivals, Desert Trip won’t be all-day affairs.
But what could the Desert Trip announcement mean for Coachella Valley’s concert earnings in 2016? Indio police are in the beginning stages of preparations, but expect an older audience. In a deviation from Coachella and Stagecoach, single-day tickets will be available for purchase the next three days.
In this November 4, 2013 file photo, musician Roger Waters and his band hold rehearsals with members of the Wounded Warriors Project for the “Stand Up For Heroes” benefit concert presented by the New York Comedy Festival & the Bob Woodruff Foundation at S.I.R. Studios, in New York. He only has one problem with the event.
Thomas noted that teachers he works with who are in their 60s and 70s were buzzing about the Trip.
“The fact that they’re doing it now, as opposed to any other time in history, maybe makes it one of the biggest concerts of all time”.
Tollett has said he has wanted to present Dylan and the Stones at the Empire Polo Club for years. Three-day reserved grandstand seats are $999 and $1,599.
