Rescuers at the collapsed building in Huruma estate have this morning pulled out a one and a half-year-old girl from the rubble four days after the building collapsed.

A baby who survived for almost four days under the debris of a collapsed building is out of danger, a Kenyan hospital official said Wednesday.
Doctors treat the rescued child at Nairobi’s Kenyatta National Hospital on Tuesday.
The Red Cross said the girl was discovered pail wrapped in a blanket and was dehydrated but without visible injuries.
“Through their efforts, through their patience, through their hearts that are human, that’s why people like us, we can smile”, Wasike said at a news conference, during which he thanked rescuers.
She said the baby was receiving medical attention at Kenyatta National Hospital.
The six-storey residence came down in heavy rain, killing at least 22 people. Another 93 have been reported missing.
“I pray she is alive”, he said.
She has been reunited with her father, Ralson Saisi Wasike, who was at work when the accident happened. It’s scary, I have kids of my own, I took it like it was my own child, it was like she was my baby.
The owners didn’t have permission to rent the building out, and it was apparently never approved by the city.
Five people – the two brothers who own the building, and three construction officials – were remanded in custody for 21 days on Tuesday to allow prosecutors to gather evidence and file charges.
Tom Amaule, a survivor of the tragedy, told Anadolu Agency that last time he spoke to his wife she was still trapped under the rubble.

Amaule said that hundreds who were rescued are now taking shelter at a camp in Huruma Estate – a residential estate located in the northeast of Nairobi – and are relying on the Red Cross and well-wishers to survive.
