Shin Bet arrests ‘Jewish terror cell’ members in West Bank settlement

“Their questioning is in progress, and their identities are classified”, the Jerusalem Police said in a statement.

The blast was the first attack of its kind in years.

Investigations carried out by the army revealed that Sharif was fatally shot eight minutes after his initial injury.

A few hours later, officers picked up another four people – all minors – who had a third goat they meant to sacrifice, police said.

The explosion blew up a bus, wounding 16 people, and caused a fire on a nearby bus.

It was not clear how many people were on the bus at the time it exploded.

The bomb on Monday exploded aboard a bus in a relatively isolated area of Jerusalem, sparking a fire that spread to another empty bus and a auto.

Bus driver Moshe Levy told reporters he checked his bus for bombs twice before he started his journey.

“Every young man has a model and my son took Yahya Ayyash as a model because he hurt those Israelis who hurt us every day”, she said.

While Prime Minister Netanyahu pledged to “settle accounts with those terrorists”, the message from the administration in Washington was troubling.

But the Israeli military says in recent months it’s uncovered Palestinian cells planning suicide attacks.

“During the latter half of 2015, there were a number of terror attacks and violent incidents against Palestinians”.

The statement said the suspects admitted carrying out the attacks during questioning by the Shin Bet internal security agency and the police department dedicated to nationalist crimes.

Israel has also closed off all crossing points from the West Bank and the Gaza Strip for Friday and Saturday, fearing a wave of violence during the start of the holiday. Some mosques in Gaza also welcomed the attack with messages of praise broadcast from loudspeakers.

Israeli forces arrested a number of suspects Thursday evening said to be linked to a bus explosion in Jerusalem on Monday that left the suspect responsible for the attack dead and 20 others injured.

About 500,000 Jews live in more than 100 settlements built since Israel’s 1967 occupation of the West Bank and East Jerusalem. Palestinians say the violence is due to a lack of hope for gaining independence after years of failed peace efforts.
