Civil War is the thirteenth film in the MCU and most of the movies have been well received and box office successes, and Robert simply can not believe how big the franchise has become. This will prevent Tony from stealing the spotlight as Iron Man, allowing the movie to still focus on Spider-Man.

Obviously, things have changed since 2008, though Favreau has continued to serve as an executive producer for The Avengers, Avengers: Age of Ultron, and Iron Man 3, so he hasn’t been completely out of the loop.

The film’s plot revolves around Captain America the American super soldier who turns against the government over an amendment that wants to install a system of accountability thereby splitting the Avengers team into two camps one led by Steve Rogers and the other following Tony Stark. However, Downey said that “Iron Man” will never be portrayed again as a villain in another movie.
