Radiohead breaks social-media silence with new song
Following the two video teasers, at 11 a.m. today, Radiohead released a full Claymation music video for their first new song since “King of Limbs” titled “Burn the Witch”.

Text on the leaflets reads: “Sing a song of sixpence that goes / Burn the Witch / We know where you live”. Roughly nine years ago, for example, the bank shocked the world by announcing that fans could pay whatever they wanted for the album In Rainbows that was released directly over the band’s website.
The band deleted all of their online presence on Sunday, including Facebook posts, their website and Twitter posts.
While it might be inspired by the classic children’s show, there’s nothing kid-friendly about the Chris Hopewell directed video where villagers burn a smiling witch, a gallows covered in flowers and some sinister village folk.
Instead, it’s believed that Radiohead is preparing to release its ninth studio album. Posts on frontman Thom Yorke’s Twitter account also disappeared. This comes after artist and collaborator Stanley Donwood claims that while it may not be finished yet, Radiohead’s new album is “a work of art”. The Guardian also noted that their official Twiiter and Facebook accounts are wiped clean.
Finally, after all the speculation and rumors and cryptic postcards dropped in the mail, we have some new music from Radiohead. Radiohead’s alternative rock style has beautifully transformed in this “Burn The Witch” song.
Fans in the United Kingdom recently reported receiving mysterious leaflets in the mail from the band, replete with the term “Burn the Witch” and an embossed band logo.
United Kingdom media were quick to draw parallels with 1960s British children’s television, including the Mirror, which asked “is the video for Radiohead’s new single Burn the Witch inspired by kids TV classic Trumpton?”.

This morning at 6am United Kingdom time, the following unexplained video of a chirping bird was posted on the band’s Instagram.
