Whilst Coachella was going down last month, festival organisers were reported to be putting together the lineup for a new festival at the same venue in Indio, California.

Incredibly, Paul McCartney, The Rolling Stones, Roger Waters, The Who, Bob Dylan, and Neil Young will all play the sister festival of Coachella – Desert Trip is coming.
Desert Trip, a three-night event, will feature The Rolling Stones, Paul McCartney, Bob Dylan, The Who, Neil Young and Roger Waters.
Each act will perform full, separate sets with the shows beginning at sunset. It’s scheduled to run from October 7-9 at the Empire Polo Club in Indio, California.
Desert Trip will be held this year from October 7 to October 9. You can get all the information about purchasing tickets here.
Similarly, Young’s manager Elliot Roberts told the Los Angeles Times in April that such an event would be a dream come true for classic rock diehards. It hardly interrupts the general festival schedule, taking place well after the summer’s over, plus it’s billed as a “once-in-a-lifetime concert” suggesting it really is now or never.
AEG Live, the partnering company that books music shows for our T-Mobile Arena, is backing this new festival “Desert Trip” that is only a one-hour private jet ride to Las Vegas.
“You can see from reading the obituaries lately that we [rock stars] don’t make old bones very well, do we?” Tickets go on sale on Monday at 10 a.m. PT at DesertTrip.com. On Saturday Oct. 8, Paul McCartney will be followed up by Neil Young + Promise of the Real.
Ticket prices range from $399 to $1,599 for three-day passes.

Elsewhere, the buy-up accommodations should look familiar to Coachella attendees: parking shuttles, camping and fine dining options are available, including reservations each night for Outstanding in the Field ($225 a seat).
