‘Supergirl’ Renewal Drama: Talks Center on Possible Jump to CW, Budget Cuts
Supergirl, CBS’s big entry into the growing field of superhero TV, debuted strong last fall, but its numbers gradually settled into average territory. Neither of those projects totally preclude Agent Carter getting a second season (Atwell could conceivably juggle the two shows), but it certainly doesn’t seem like a vote of confidence in Agent Carter’s future that so many of its key players secured new opportunities.

The possibility of a second season of the CBS television series “Supergirl” still remains uncertain as new reports indicate that the network and Warner Bros. are now at odds over the costs associated with the show.
The ratings may not have been the best on CBS, but there are still plenty of reasons why Supergirl deserves to be renewed for a Season 2. This caused concern among fans of the Girl of Steel, as the show hangs in the balance because of one issue her superpowers can’t solve – money. The CW is operated by the CBS Corporation and Warner Bros. A potential move to The CW might only be rumor.
Right now The CW is home to three DC Comics superhero television shows.
Though sources close to the series have said that the network would love for Supergirl to return for a second season, they may not be able to make it work.
If Supergirl were to travel to The CW it would not only make crossovers more possible but also much more likely.
CBS head Leslie Moonves and Warner Bros.’ TV head Peter Roth are in the midst of discussions, but a deadline is looming, as CBS will be announcing its fall schedule in just two weeks. The problem is that Supergirl is a very expensive show for CBS. Sure, no one’s turning out something like The Dark Knight but any random 20-something-episode season of Arrow or The Flash is both A. more enjoyable and B. more well-paced than Batman V Superman: Dawn of Justice.

Stay tuned for when, where and if Supergirl will land for season 2.
